ELATI
Elati is located in Central Zagori, 28 km from the town of Ioannina, straight across the Vikos Gorge -hence it is also called the “Vikos Balcony”- at an elevation of 960 m. It has plenty of snow in winter and abundant vegetation in summer. There are 3 fresh water springs with running water all-year within the village alone. There are 21 permanent residents. The village has 4 cafe-restaurants and 1 tavern as well as exhibition and seminars of felting. The nearest mini-market is located in Asprangeli (2.5 km away), while there is a super-market and a bakery in Metamorphosi (10 km away). Post-office 1.5 km / Civil Administration Centre. 2 km / Medical Care Unit 2 km / Pharmacy 10 km / Gas stations (ΒΡ + ΕΚΟ) 2.5 km. / ΑΤΜ 23 km.

ZAGORI - NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
The Zagori region is famous for its vegetation and wildlife. Within the National Park of Vikos-Aoos, there are 1240 different plant species, representing 96 of the 149 plant families known worldwide (5 of these species are indigenous and are protected under the Bern Convention), 136 bird species, 21 reptile and 24 mammal species, with major representatives being the brown bear (Ursus Arctos), the wild-boar (Sus Scrota), the deer (Apreolus Capreolus) and the wild-goat (Rupicapra Balcanica).
